Prince of Peace builds long-term relationships with carefully selected organizations providing budgeted financial support (and often volunteer support) for their ministries. Each month one organization is highlighted to help our congregation better understand where our mission dollars are going and also provide an opportunity to become involved through prayer, time, and/or additional personal donations.

Located in Lakewood, Illinois, Crosspoint seeks to help connect people to God in a whole new way.
Partnership with POP: Crosspoint was started as a church plant of Prince of Peace in 2011. Crosspoint chartered as its own independent congregation on August 28, 2022. We continue to financially support them as a mission partner.

Exodus World Service transforms lives of refugees and volunteers. The organization educates local churches about refugee ministry, connects volunteers in relationship with refugee families through practical service projects, and equips leaders to speak up on behalf of refugees.
Partnership with POP: Collecting donations for a "Welcome to America" pack and matching Prince of Peace families to mentor new refugee families.

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) feeds God's starving children who are hungry in body and spirit. FMSC strives to eliminate starvation in children by sending Manna pack meals to more than 70 countries around the world.
Partnership with POP: Watch for Prince of Peace events scheduled periodically at the Schaumburg location where we serve together as a community.

Grace Christian Academy, located in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago, primarily serves the Hispanic community in its neighborhood. Partnership with POP: Our Christmas Tree of Giving benefits the students, Grace's choir comes to sing once a year, and we annually collect supplies to help support the school.

JOURNEYS the Road Home is a non-profit agency that provides both shelter and social services to the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless in 37 towns in north/northwest suburban Cook County. The agency consists of the PADS Shelter Program, the HOPE Center Supportive Services Program, and the Pathways Housing Readiness Program focusing on intervention and assistance for those in need.
Partnership with POP: Prince of Peace supports the PADS site at the Presbyterian Church of Palatine on the first Wednesday of each month from October-April and at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Mt. Prospect from May-September.

Kids Hope USA is a national mentoring organization that matches one church with one school, and one mentor with one student for one hour per week.
Partnership with POP: Prince of Peace is partnering with Lincoln Elementary, the public school in our backyard that has more than 600 students. Mentors get to play, read, listen, and share the unconditional love of Jesus with these students.

Lutheran Church Charities (LCC) is a recognized service organization of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod and helps support Christian human care ministries of the Church. LCC works throughout the U.S. and internationally to bring the mercy and compassion of Jesus Christ to serve the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of those who are hurting.
Partnership with POP: Lutheran Early Response Team (LERT) and K-9 Comfort Dogs are LCC ministries.

Prince of Peace is a member of the Northern Illinois District of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). Our donations to the district are used in the following ways: 30% for mission outreach and church planting in Northern Illinois (our partner church, Crosspoint, was a church plant grant recipient), 30% for national and international LCMS work, and 40% for operational synod activities such as assisting congregations in the call process, pastoral guidance, Lutheran school support, continuing education for church workers, and doctrinal supervision. Partners for Our Communities (POC) is a local organization that seeks to connect underserved residents in the Palatine area to services and resources to build a community of empowered people, healthy families, and vibrant neighborhoods.
Partnership with POP: A joint community garden with POC on our Prince of Peace campus, financially assisting their Edgebrook satellite location, and serving in their ROLE studio at the main Community Resource Center campus.

Palatine Township provides vital community services to the area.
Partnership with POP: We work with the Palatine Township on the following programs to help local families: Spring Basket Program; Apple Tree Campaign for back-to-school supplies; Thanksgiving Baskets; Christmas Tree of Giving.

Palatine Assisting Through Hope (PATH) is an organization dedicated to empowering people in need. This mission is carried out by providing food, clothing and other basic needs for families in crisis.
Partnership with POP: We help supply clothing donations and volunteers for PATH’s Community Clothing Closet located at 1585 N. Rand Road.

Together In Mission (TIM) is a program of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod in which congregations can adopt and monetarily support missionaries all over the world.
Partnership with POP: Prince of Peace supports LCMS missionaries, David and Rachel Baker, who serve as international missionaries. David is preaching, leading Bible studies, discipling new Christians, and training group leaders to become pastors.

Walcamp, located on the Kishwaukee River in Kingston, Illinois, is a year-round outdoor ministry offering facilities and a variety of programs for youth and families, churches and other groups. At Walcamp Outdoor Ministries, Jesus Christ shares Himself through relationships and creation to declare His love to every person.
Partnership with POP: We collect camp supplies annually and encourage utilization of their program and facilities.

Chris and Sue Ladish worked for 26 years in Burkina Faso, West Africa. In their new role as Member Care Coordinators, they care for the needs of personnel working in sensitive areas of the Mediterranean region. Chris and Sue are based out of their home in Kansas City, Missouri.
Partnership with POP: We host Chris and Sue annually and help sponsor their ministry.

Mission Grants
Do you have an organization with a Christian mission that you personally support through financial donations, volunteer hours, or prayer? If you are a Prince of Peace Member, you may apply for funding for that organization through our Mission Grants fund. You are welcome to apply for one mission grant per calendar year. The organization can perform local, national, or international mission work.
