The Stephen Ministry of Prince of Peace provides a biblically sound extension of our pastors' care to individual members of our congregation and community on an ongoing basis.

Stephen Ministers are lay members of our congregation who receive 50 hours of special training to provide one-to-one Christian care, both spiritual and emotional, to those who are experiencing a crisis, facing a challenge, or simply going through a tough time such as:

  • Loss of a loved one
  • Hospitalization
  • Divorce or separation
  • Spiritual crisis
  • Unemployment/job crisis
  • Terminal illness
  • Imprisonment
  • Loneliness
  • Discouragement
  • Disability
  • Rehabilitation
  • Aging
  • Pregnancy issues
  • Chronic illness or pain

Stephen Ministers meet with their “care receivers” each week to listen, pray, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support for as long as there is a need. The care provided is confidential, free, and very helpful.
