Missions & Outreach

Prince of Peace is a mission focused church! We give approximately 10% of our general budget to local, national, and international missions. We also encourage our congregation to be hands-on in serving. Our missions approach ties directly to our church goals:

(1) To REACH people with the good news of Jesus Christ
(2) To SERVE God and others with all we are and have
(3) To GROW together as His followers in the process

Featured Missions

We build long-term relationships with carefully selected organizations and provide budgeted financial support for their ministries. These organizations are referred to as our Featured Missions and we highlight one organization per month in our congregation. Learn more about our Featured Missions here.

Mission Grants

We know that other Christian missions are also important to our members so we have established a Mission Grants fund. Prince of Peace members can apply for funding for an organization through the mission grant application process. A Mission Grant Team meets quarterly to review requests and approve mission grants. Mission Events

Mission events are designed to engage the Prince of Peace congregation and our neighboring community through events that benefit a mission and allow a large number of people to participate or serve. These events might be for a Featured Mission, a Mission Grant recipient, or some other organization. See past event pictures and upcoming Mission Events here.

Mission Trips

Prince of Peace coordinates Mission Trips each year that are open to high school students and adults. These trips are domestic and international. Learn more about Mission Trips here.

Mission Grants

Mission Grant Application Process

In addition to providing financial support for our Featured Missions, Prince of Peace has also established a Mission Grant Fund. Prince of Peace members can apply for mission grant funding for organizations with Christian missions that they personally support through financial donations, volunteer hours, or prayer. Members can apply for one mission grant per calendar year. The organization can perform local, national, or international mission work.

Mission grant applications are reviewed quarterly by the Mission Grant Team. Submission cutoff dates are as follows:

  • February 1st for a 1st quarter grant
  • May 1st for a 2nd quarter grant
  • August 1st for a 3rd quarter grant
  • November 1st for a 4th quarter grant

Mission Events

Mission events are designed to engage our Prince of Peace congregation and our neighboring community through events that benefit a mission and allow a large number of people to participate. These events might be for a Featured Mission, a Mission Grant recipient, or some other organization. Examples of past mission events include: Feed My Starving Children meal packing, LifeSource blood drive, Palatine Street Fest and Here 2 Serve serving days.

 

 

 

 

Summer 2017 Here 2 Serve Events

More than 120 people shared Christ's peace in our local community through 15 different projects last summer! We have more opportunities to encourage you again this summer. Sign up for as many dates as you want and invite someone else to come along with you!

Mission Trips

We organize national and international mission trips that enable our congregation to reach and serve in different locations. 

Domestic Trips

Domestic trips are open to high school students and adults. Some of the locations we have served include: South Carolina, New Orleans, Colorado, New Jersey, Texas, and Florida.

International Trips

International trips are also open to high school students and adults. We have taken mission trips to Haiti for the past 7 years.  

2016 Mission Trips

We took a domestic mission trip July 22-31, 2016 to Columbia, South Carolina to assist with flood clean-up efforts. We also took an international mission trip June 14-22, 2016 to Jacmel, Haiti to continue our mission work there.

2017 Mission Trips

We are planning a domestic mission trip to Charlotte, New York from July 22-30, 2017, to help with housing repair projects. Click here for more information. 

We will also be joining forces with members of St. John LaGrange to serve in Les Cayes, Haiti from June 23-July 2, 2017.  Contact Terry Zillmer for more information.
