Being part of a great story is something we all long for...have you ever finished reading a wonderful book, and wished you could have been part of the story? We have that longing, because deep down we know we are part of the greatest story...God's Story!
We desire for all kids to know God's story, to see how he has worked through HIS story, and where each one of us fits into it.
What is POP Kids?
POP Kids is the name of our Children's Ministry at Prince of Peace. We desire that each child will grow in knowing God, not just knowing about God. Our hope is that they see their story in God’s Big Story, and understand how God has been working all through His-story to bring us back into relationship with Him.

What ages can participate?
POP Kids is for children age 3 through 5th grade. Young children need to be three-years-old by the start of the ministry year.
Parents and POP Kids
It’s been a long held fallacy that you at home are supporting the work we are doing at church with your kids. It’s not true, and it’s certainly not Biblical! We have one hour a week with your kids; you have 167. Who has the biggest influence on their child’s spiritual development?
POP Kids exists to support the work that you are already doing in your homes to raise your kids to be followers of Christ. We know it’s not easy, especially with the world pulling our kids away from God. We are here to support you, to encourage you, and to give you resources to help you on your journey. Our POP Kids small groups give your kids a community where they can share their faith journey with their peers. You need to be involved in the community as well! What better way to have our children fall in love with Jesus than for us to be living testimonies of what that means? One thing is true in spiritual parenting: you can’t give away what you don’t have!
How do we get involved?
To get involved in POP Kids, all you need to do is show up. POP Kids is on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:30am. We’ll help you find the right class for your kids, and get them settled for the morning’s lesson. You don’t need to be a member of Prince of Peace for your kids to attend POP Kids. Stepping Stones Classes: "My Bible" and "First Communion"
A stepping stone is a marker on a faith journey, a stopping point where we celebrate a new milestone of faith development. Baptism, coming to corporate worship, getting your first Bible, First Communion, Confirmation, graduating from high school are all defining moments in our walk of faith, and we want to celebrate them. Our stepping stone ministry supports you as primary faith mentors for your children, and gives you the tools and resources you need at these specific times of faith development to encourage your children in their faith walk at home. Home is the primary place were faith in Christ is nurtured, strengthened, and expressed. The church’s role is to be a trusted partner alongside parents to help foster this strengthening this process. We provide support, encouragement, resources, and accountability for families to grow in their faith at home.
In 2016, we were excited to introduce and celebrate your child getting their first Bible with the “My Bible” Stepping Stone class. This new class gave our participants an overview of God’s Big Story as told through scripture, and will gave parents resources to use at home to continue learning and creating the habit of regularly reading God’s Word.
Our First Communion workshop for parents and their child. This class helps students understand the gifts God gives through this Holy meal, and prepares them to take communion for the first time. This workshop is for children in 5th grade and above with their parent.
Dates for the 2017-18 ministry year have not been set for these classes. Fill out the contact form below to get information about these classes when it's available.
Students and Parents have fun learning about the Bible at our first workshop!
