We meet for food, fellowship and study the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at 6:15pm at Prince of Peace. We start with dinner where everyone brings something to share.
The goals of our group are:
1. Living life with each other in prayer, in fellowship during a meal, and in strengthening each other in our joys, sorrows, anxieties, changes and triumphs.
2. Being an active outreach in the community and within the church. We are involved with the Exodus Refugee Program, Community Threads, Feed My Starving Children, the Marriage class, Palatine Thanksgiving baskets, and the POP Christmas Tree of Giving.
3. Professing our faith as we share our personal faith with others, and develop, learn, and strengthen each other through study of the Word and prayer.
We have studied authors like: Strobel, Keller, Ortberg, Lucado, and Newman. We are currently finishing "The Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman and will soon start "Surprised by Hope" by N. T. Wright.
